Before Nikky Starr emerged, there was Olanike—a driven writer and chemistry student at Olabisi Onabanjo University. The music industry became a tangible reality for her during the pandemic, a time when the world came to a standstill. Unwilling to remain idle, she ventured into music and discovered a deep passion for it.

Her journey began one day at a studio where she accompanied a friend. When the producer called for a female artist to feature in a song, she confidently stepped forward and offered her skills. That pivotal moment marked the start of her recording career. In December 2020, she released her debut single, "Mabaelo," which garnered over 5,000 streams on various digital platforms. Building on this success, her subsequent single, "SAKO," further established her presence in the industry. In 2022, she was recognized as the Best Afrobeat Artist on the Olabisi Onabanjo University campus Billboard, a milestone that signaled a bright future in music. 

A major breakthrough came when Tite Tunez discovered one of her covers on Instagram and reached out for a collaboration. This led to the creation of "Only You," a versatile track that blends Afrobeat, Amapiano, and reggae elements. Winning the Gbedu FM star competition with "SAKO" further propelled her career, securing regular airplay and enhancing her visibility.

Now, Nikky Starr is poised for an international career as an Afrobeat and Amapiano artist, eager to share her stories and spread her music to audiences around the world.
